The DBMS Guidance Staff consists of three guidance counselors and a registrar. The 6th grade counselor is Mrs. Ruth Bean; 7th grade counselor is Ms. Jennifer Millard-Fredericks. Dr. Rick Biard, the Guidance Director, who also serves as 8th grade counselor.
Students generally see their guidance counselor for needs in the areas of academics, personal issues, social issues, and careers. Counselors also facilitate the FCAT and other required tests. 7th and 8th grade counselors help students to develop their high school graduation plans. Some small group counseling is available.
